Week 1: Introduction
Our first week of “Tough Questions” focused on why these questions are tough in the first place, and what kind of cultural context we’re speaking to. We finished with a few tactics and questions that can help us interact better with those immersed in postmodern culture and philosophy. Sorry for the late start on the audio! Week 2: Resurrection of Jesus
We discussed why the idea of resurrection is difficult for modern people to come to terms with, as well as how skeptics wrestle with the historical evidence. We then talked about how the physical resurrection of Jesus makes the most sense out of the historical evidence. CLICK HERE FOR THE SLIDE PRESENTATION.
Week 3: Continuity/Discontinuity Between the Old and New Testament
We addressed the difficulty of reconciling differences between the Old and New Testaments. Questions like why the law doesn’t apply directly to us, how to interpret NT passages that seem to disregard the Old Testament, and much more. Click here for slides.
Week 4: Problem of Evil
We discussed the posture necessary to discuss this as finite creatures, as well as the need to look to the cross to find the ultimate solution in Jesus. Click here for slides.
