When we are weary, anxious, hopeless, or looking for satisfaction we often don’t want to admit it. It feels week to name those things in our hearts, which is why I love when songs give us the opportunity to do that by putting those words in our mouths. It becomes a heart check that Jesus invites us to in Matthew 11 when he invites us weary and heavy laden people to rest in him. Our weakness is the main thing that qualifies us to come to him! I love this song because I have an opportunity to own my weakness and neediness if I truly surrender to Jesus in these moments. Those moments turn into minutes, and then hours and then days, but it starts in moments. May this song create that type of moment in our hearts as we sing it together.
